Model 1205D delivers better than 40 ns typical accuracy and includes the most highly sought after features in a precision time clock as standard plus enhanced performance and security (EPS) in a DIN rail mounted package.

The standard holdover oscillator maintains accuracy of 1 ms/day when not tracking satellites. In addition to enhanced performance, Arbiter Systems' new EPS technology includes GNSS anti-spoofing and secure password-protected and encrypted configuration interface providing robust, reliable synchronization to help comply with latest NERC-CIP requirements.

The Model 1205D timing signals are available via the three Ethernet ports and the thirty-two pin terminal block. The three 10/100 Ethernet ports (copper standard, fiber optional) provide status, configuration as well as network timing supporting the NTP, SNTP, PTP (IEEE 1588Power Profile supported), SNMP, ICMP, TCP, SSH, SSL, HTTP, HTTPS and DHCP protocols. The thirty-two pin terminal block provides access to the Model 1205D standard inputs, outputs and legacy communication ports. Two inputs, an event timer and a frequency monitor, are included along with six Programmable Pulse outputs, a modulated IRIG-B output, a FET output, relay contacts, two RS-232 ports and a RS- 422/485 port (transmit only).

The Model 1205D standard power supply is a 13.5 Vdc to 26.4 Vdc supply with secure terminal strip inlets and surge-withstand capability. The surge-withstand network is designed to meet ANSI/IEEE C37.90-1 and IEC 61000-4 specifications. Also included is a built-in lightning arrestor and rear panel ground plate to protect against secondary lightning strikes and other antenna coupled surges.

  • Accuracy of ± 100 ns, ± 40 ns typical
  • Standard: NTP/PTP server, unmodulated IRIG-B, modulated IRIG-B, 1 PPS, and One Form C (SPDT) fail-safe locked relay, Power System Time and Frequency Monitor
  • IEEE C37.118.1-2011 compliant for Synchrophasor use.

Enhancements

  • Enhanced Performance and Security (EPS)
    • EPS benefits include multi-system timing sources (GPS/ GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou), standard holdover oscillator, multiple levels of security, secure communications, and anti-spoofing technology
  • Second serial port standard
  • IRIG-B compliant with IEEE Std. C37.118.1-2011

Firmware Version and Related Information

Downloadable Firmware (1205_1206_Firmware)

Firmware update steps:

The following are basic instructions. Check the ReadMe.txt for specific instructions.
  1. Download the firmware file.
  2. Unzip the firmware file.
  3. ***DISCONNECT*** the antenna from the rear panel. The update may still happen but disconnecting the antenna helps smooth the update process.
  4. Revert to http if using the https interface.
  5. Upload the tps_os-xx.xx.apf file.
  6. Reboot the clock after updating firmware to make sure that the new code is loaded.

NOTE: This is a repost.

The file posted on 25 May 2023 wrongly included the AIDoIP-01.01.apf file.

If you uploaded AIDoIP-01.01.apf after uploading tps3_os-01.34.apf to the clock then you will need to upload tps3_os-01.34.apf again to get all the updates.

Updates are not security related.

  1. Analog Input Data over Internet Protocol (AIDoIP) connection improvements
  2. Fixed Auth NTP connection
  3. Ethernet connection stability improvements.

Updates are not security related.

  1. Reposted to the web #2 because the wrong AIDoIP file was included in the zip file.
  2. Reposted to web site because the Analog Input Data over Internet Protocol (AIDoIP), frequency monitoring apf was not included in the zip file.
  3. Removed the errant digital signals on power-up.
  4. Fixed where the PPH output was active (high) on power-up until its trigger time passed.

Updates are not security related.

  1. This is a re-release of 1.32 to include an update to the Analog Input Data over Internet Protocol (AIDoIP-01.01.apf). The update improves the stability of the analog data output when connecting with the Windows Telnet client. Follow the ReadMe.txt for uploading instructions.
  2. CLARIFICATION: This is a re-issue of the 1.32 zip file. The firmware version 1.32 has not changed. The zip file now includes a second firmware file (AIDoIP-01.01.apf) that needs to be loaded after the main firmware file (tps3_os‑01.32.apf). The ReadMe.txt contains the loading instructions.

01.31 09Sep2020

Updates are not security related.

  1. Improve user interface (web) responsiveness.
  2. Add Analog over IP data for the frequency output. Frequency measurement data similar to the serial Vorne and ASCII broadcasts is available over the Ethernet via Telnet.
  3. Add bonding/link aggregation support for Port 2 and Port 3. These ports may be linked together, creating a third IP address that continues to respond if Port 2 or Port 3 is disconnected.
